నివాళి

మన సుందరకాండ భక్త సమాజంలో ప్రముఖులు, విద్యావేత్త, సమాజ సేవకులు శ్రీ గాడేపల్లి నరసింహ మూర్తి గారు శుక్రవారం తెల్లవారు ఝామున స్వర్గస్తులయ్యారు... నిరంతర భక్తి తత్పరులు, ఎల్లప్పుడూ సమాజ శ్రేయస్సునే ఆకక్షించే వారు అయిన ఆయన ఆత్మకు శాంతి చేకూర్చాలని సుందరకాండ భక్త సమాజం తరఫున రామచంద్రమూర్తిని ప్రార్థిస్తున్నాము...

Sri Gadepally Narasimhamurty, famous Academician, Social Activist Philanthropist and key person in our Sundarakanda Samajam passed away early this morning...We pray BHAGAVAN SRIRAMA to provide his soul rest in peace...  

ABOUT HIM

Gadepally Sita Rama Narasimhamurty (Prof. G.S.R. Narasimhamurty) was born on September 30, 1920 in Razole, Andhra Pradesh to Sri. Gadepally Venkateswarlu and Smt. Kameswaramma. He received his early schooling at home from his father who was an educationalist himself.
He started formal schooling in the 6th standard in the year 1930, shortly before the demise of his father. His educational endeavors were realized mostly through scholarships. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. from Andhra University. With the help of a Fulbright Scholarship, he further received a M.Ch.E. from University of Louisville, USA and Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from University of Cincinnati, USA.
One of the founding faculty at IIT Mumbai, he formally retired from academia in 1980 after serving as Professor and Head of Chemical Engineering.
He continued his professional activities post retirement in the area of renewable energies: Solar and Bio-energy. Having invented the technology of converting biomass into biogas around 1980, he obtained an Indian Patent for Conversion of Biomass to Biogas. He set up several biogas plants in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.
Beyond his professional contributions, Shri. Narasimhamurthy authored books that provide insight into Hindu literature such as the Sri Vishnu Sahasra Namastotram and Srimad Bhagavad Gita. He was fond of languages and learnt German, Russian and Sanskrit.
He, along with family members, engaged in “Lokakalyan = 3E” program initiatives in the areas of Education, Environment and Economy. The program is meant to empower the under-privileged through education provided free of cost. Lokakalyan programs are centered in temples with the aim of re-establishing them as centers of learning, culture and prosperity.
He was married to late. Smt. Venkatarammama and is survived by his loving sons Shri. Bhaskar Gadepally and Shri. Kamesh Gadepally, daughters in-law and grandchildren.
Dr. G.S.R. Narasimhamurthy passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of June 8th, 2013.
